I replaced the Head Gaskets so I removed all the needed parts to get to it and replace it. It cracks but no start. I marked my timing chain with 3 paint lines on each side and put them exactly back on the same gear. I had an issue with the camshaft position solenoid but replaced that with a new one. This threw a P0013 code, but once replaced no more codes. Only other issues on the forscan were compass not working (already an issue before), and passenger auto running boards having a short, which i don't think affects much as they still went up and down on the self test.
I confirmed I have spark by starting the engine with a plug grounded to the body, saw the spark.
Fully charged the battery over night with a trickle charger.
Air is clear as the filter is good and I've tried starting it with out the whole plastic assembly on it. This did cause a backfire.
I also tried putting starter fluid in, same result no start but a loud bang and some smoke.
I feel like it's the fuel that's the problem. The fuel is a few weeks old, and it's a 1/4 tank.
I had the fuel rail and injectors off, and they went back on easy. The pump worked before the work was done, but I never heard the pump activate before either.
Is there anything I can check? I was thinking using forscan to see if there is fuel pressure, I don't have a full version so not sure if I need to get the trail. or a vacuum tester.
What else could I be missing? Common issues?
Thank you so much.
