Passenger side rear view mirror does not extend

Sometimes the passenger side rear-view mirror does not extend after unlocking the doors. The dealer has looked at it, but could not find anything wrong with it. This just contributed to a minor fender bender my wife had because she could not see how close she was to a bollard. Has anybody else experienced this?

It would be helpful if you posted the year, make, model and trim.

Someone may have specific information based upon year or trim.

I vaguely remember posts on this forum involving a reprogram of the mirror control software, which corrected an issue with the right side mirror - but I can’t remember which years it affected.

Most probably it's dirty, after car wash(rain is not often here water is there and once dried - not moving, little bit help with hand - and then few times open close - all is fine
