The passenger side running board on my 2017 Expedition slopes slightly more downward than the street side one. This just happened recently. The mechanism it is attached to doesn’t visually look at a different angle to the frame than the left one. How are the running boards attached to their operating mechanism? Is this a simple adjustment or more involved?

You might have to shim it but probably something loose. Take a close look at the hinges, etc.
