Special Service Message 53560 - 2025 Expedition/Navigator - DTC P161D Stored In the PCM
Some 2025 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P161D in the powertrain control module (PCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to the software within the PCM. P161D should be ignored if no other DTCs are present in the PCM and no customer concerns are present. Address any other DTCs present using normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. Replacement or reprogramming of the PCM will not resolve this condition at this time. Engineering is currently working on a solution and a software update is expected in Q4 2025. Continue to monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
