The lower body cladding has gone almost grey/white in 10 years. I've tried "Back in Black", and the guys from Wipe New (on TV no less) "almost" assure me that their product can bring back some of the original argent/platinum grey.

Other than replacing the cladding, or somehow painting it (like the Chevy dealers did in Hollywood when the early Avalanche's wouldn't sell with 40 square feet of blah grey cladding), is anything going to work to bring back the color that is still visible on the bumper covers??

I can always tell a 2003 or early 2004 by it's milky white rocker panels!

Thanks

I think mine got sprayed with sem dye or something to make it look spiffy on the used car lot. To make it even blacker I got a bottle of gel dye made by Bondo, at pep boys. Works GREAT. Apply sparingly with a foam applicator. May have to do it every three months, I do not know. But it's black. And cheap, $10.

I found an aerosol dressing that worked AWESOME for black trim, and other faded gray cladding. Once it dries, and after a few applications, it is like NEW.

Here it is from a distributor local to me, but when I looked at the label last time i bought it, it was "Packaged for....", meaning it was something available under other labels.

C.A.R. Products Inc. | Car detailing chemicals, car wash chemicals, etc. Holyoke, MA | Detail Warehouse > Detail > Dressings > Brite-O

I did my side mirrors, and the black area on the top of the rear bumper, and couldn't be happier. Will try and get some pics tomorrow.

Basically, this is "Back to Black" that doesn't really wear off.

Found a few pics that show the areas I treated:

Here you can see the top of the bumper.

You can see a little bit of the mirror trim. Mine was pretty faded.
