Tire pressure monitoring system when rotating tires

We can guess... why not, it'll be fun!
1. TPMS may use an antenna next to each wheel and measure signal strength for each sensor from all antenna and figure out position from that.
2. TPMS may use a multi-antenna receiver centrally located and use phase analysis to determine direction of signal.
3. TPMS may use slight pressure differences combined with slight tire travel distances to correlate pressure to tire and assign sensors that way (I doubt this one - I don't think either the TPMS values or the ABS wheel rotation values are that precise)
Or someday one of us will track down the TPMS system in the shop manual (is it even in there?)...
