Tire pressures?

My new tires came in yesterday, 285/75/17 Nitto Terragrappler's, and they were shipped at max air pressure, 80psi. Now, they ride pretty rough being so high, but I don't know what I should take them down to.

Any thoughts???

Take it to ntb or somewhere, and ask them

Try it at what the sticker in the door says. Max pressure is for max load.

I would run them at closer to stock PSI... then watch the tread for wear... too low the outside will wear faster... too high the center will wear fastest.... best to find wear tread wears best and ride and MPG is best... but gonna be a lot closer to stock PSI rather than max

My BFG ATs are rated at 80 psi, but I run them at 60, and they have worn great for about 10,000 miles so far.

I was going to air them down to what the door said, but thought that would be too low for them. I've got them aired down to 45psi for now, waiting to hear back from Nitto. At least it doesn't ride like a tank now....

Yeah cause you got the load e tires. Haha my spare is an e load in that size. I want e loads for my next tires. Right now mine are at 40 psi front and rear.

That is true, I love the E loads too! They may ride a little rougher, but I don't really notice it, and I don't have to worry about running over rocks when off roading.
