Hi

I have been thinking about a few ways to Rear and front entertainment system, and one way i figure, is installing 3 12" portable monitor with a firestick. But the tesla style head unit has been itching too.

Does t-style hU have video in to display in the screen, or video out to display in other screens?

Thanks

Thanks.

But I don’t have stock RES.

The monitors I’m planning on using are plain portable monitors.

That’s way I need hdmi out

No, no video in or out.
I'm assuming when you say tesla, you're erroneously referring to the 15.5" display in your Ford.

There's an aftermarket Android "Tesla Style" (hence t-style) head unit that replaces the stock unit in the early Gen 4 Expeditions.

Why not just use tablets?

Ding ding ding. If you don't have the factory rear entertainment system, this is the answer.

Couple of tablets, seat back tablet mounts, route the charge cable through the mount arm and down inside the seat fabric and done. Clean factory-like install.

Kids have tablets, but I travel a lot with mom and pop and they need to watch something too.

That’s why I ask if that aftermarket head unit have video in or out.

Can't quite remember myself since it's been awhile since I did mine, but I think there were RCA video jacks. Check some of the install videos out for clarification. I left my HU behind in my old truck since I didn't feel like fishing it out in the junkyard after it got crushed. What the HU did NOT come with (at least from ATP) was the RCA pigtail for audio out signal.

Thanks.

I'll try this:

Car TV Mate Pro, Wireless CarPlay Adapter with HDMI Input Port for Fire TV Sticks

https://amzn.to/3ULh135

And the whole system will be a firestick to a HDMI splitter 1 in 3 out, from the splitter to both rear monitors and the car tv mate pro, I should have the same image in all screens at the same time.

Will let you all know if this works.

Plenty of 80 year olds can use tablets without issues. And that would give them the freedom to watch different items on each tablet (with headphones). The tablets would likely be brighter and easier to see than monitors as well.
