Just out of curiosity, does the rear glass on a 99 Expy have the option to have the rear glass "pop" or release via a remote? I know that many vehicles have the ability to pop the trunk latch, just didn't know if it was possible on the Expy's.

My remote unlocks the hatch, then I just turn the handle to the side that says glass and it pops open.

Am I missing what you are trying to do?

Yeah, I am trying to find a way to just press the "trun release" on a ford or aftermarket remote and bypass the whole having to turn the handle thing. I just want to be able to pull the glass open once pressing the release on the remote. I know it can be done with aftermarket door lock plungers, but I was curious if there was something stock that the expys had

My 2005 has it. Maybe you can get the guts from a newer year and make it work. Not sure what year they started using them. Maybe 2003 and up.
