Well, I'm not sure if it is just the extremely cold weather or if I have a problem with my heat. It takes a while to get heat in my 98 Expedition XLT. I have manual controls not automatic. After about 10-15 minutes of driving I get warm air with the temp gauge as far clockwise at it will go. It blows warm but not hot. Usually most cars blow such hot air that I have to turn the temp knob toward the middle. In my Expo I can leave it on high fan speed and never get hot or really hot air. Anyone else have similar trouble or is this just normal?

i know that in my 03 Expy, it seems like my feet never get warm, no matter how high or hard I run the heat. never have had this in any other vehicle.

The coolant is the medium that transfers engine heat into the heater core. If the engine's coolant level is low, not much coolant will circulate through the heater core, as the inlet for the core is basically the highest point in the cooling system.

I've noticed that my feet never get warm either in my 97. THe air is blowing very HOT. After some looking, I discovered that when the setting is on "Floor", the heat is blowing out the defrost vents, no air at all coming out the floor vents. It happens in both "Floor" and "Panel/Floor". Ford defect?

A ford defect? Why is it always a defect and not just something wrong. The heat controls are made through vacuum lines and vacuum motors. You probally have a loose line, bad motor, or something obstructing the door. Do you hear any "hissing" noise? Do all the other functions work, like defrost and hotter/colder setting?

I love the heat on my 03 XLT. After 3 - 5 minutes it gets burning hot, and I have to turn it back to the first fan speed and turn the heat to about half cold half heat.
