    All terain tires and mud terains will likely lose about .5 to 1.5 mpg depending on what size you use.

    06 Expedition XLT Lift/Wheel Question

    gr82bag would be right in stating the tires are 34" tall. If Im correct the new 03 up expeditions have larger wheel wells. I had to trim about 3/4" from the front bumper valence. I still have the faintest rubbing when i back down a steep driveway while turning. I also have a faint rubbing noise...

    New lift

    I dont remember...I just did one side until i thought it was sitting where I wanted it. Just take a measurement from the top of the wheel well to the ground and crank until it is lifted 1.5 inches.You can go as high as 2 inches. I think more than that is to harsh on the cv joints and ride...

    New lift

    I put a pair of Daystar 2" spacers on the rear and I adjusted the torsion bars about 1.25". You just turn the bolts clockwise with an 18mm socket for the front lift. For the rear I jacked it up off the ground until the suspension was at full droop. I then unbolted the rear stabalizer and shocks...

    New lift

    It rides better in my opinion because the factory shocks were so worn out. I could move them like a slinky, with little resistance when I took them off. The truck also doesent porpoise as much front to back while driving down the road. It is a flat and controlled ride compared to before.

    I average 11.2 around town with 20 percent of my driving on the highway. flatout highway at 75 i get around 13.8

    starter going bad?

    Your starter might be ok. When a starter doesent get enough juice it cant throw the gear towards the flywheel. Thats why you heard the grinding sound. Hopefully the grinding didnt damage the flywheel.

    the tornado

    colder denser air creates more power on an internal combustion engine. My lightning made 12 more horsepower on the dyno in the winter time. cold dense air = power
