Thanks Briastl and everyone. After looking at my plug and comparing to pictures online I see that it does have a the built in gasket you are referring to. The previous owner had installed the drain plus super tight. I was wondering if they were trying to keep it from leaking.

Does the oil drain plug have any type of gasket, rubber or metal? Changing the oil for the first time on my new to me 2013 and there is no gasket. I thought my 2005 had a metal gasket.

I haven't fully specked out the inverter project as that is happening later. I'm working on the exterior lights first. You are no doubt correct though depending on the size of the converter. I'm probably just putting in a small one. I have one connected to the cigarette lighter that works...
Thanks for the reply. As of now I'm just looking to run a wire from the battery to inside for a power inverter and to add more power at the dash for accessories. I also need to run a wire from a dash to the front via a relay for some extra lights. Probably 14 gauge for the switch and 12 or 10...
