I'm just guessing, but it might be the door latches. Spray a bunch of wd40 in the latches and see if that works. Do you have a door ajar light on? Or a bad ground on the batt?
Check rear lower knuckle to control arm bushings. They are called ball joints, but they have no ball lol. Mine were worn and the truck would knock on acceleration. Easy to check. Jack ul truck, and pry rear tires up. If there's play they be done.
Check at the hub at the iwe where the line runs to. Pull the big line off, see if its pulling vacuum when the truck is running. If it isnt trace the line back to the iwe solnoid on the firewall behind the battery.
Iwe solenoid or the iwe itself. If only on one side I would say the iwe, since the solenoid controls both.a good place to start would be to check the line for leaks.
Get a test light and start checkin' the fuses. The owners manual will tell u where to look. The top cover on the rear panel comes off to access the switches fron the back.
Mine did that too. I just sprayed a ton of wd inside and work the door over and over. Finally it stopped. Weird that yours isn't on when the door is actually open. If the above doesnt work, probably need a new latch.
I had just adjusted the striker in to snug up the door. But the door does sit in bit bit now. I wonder if you could just coat the striker with liquid electrical tape or plasti-dip?
