Purchase 2004 Expy 157,000 miles

I am purchasing a 2004 Eddie bauer with 157k miles on it for $5000 (dealer wants to get rid of it). Looks great, runs great, no visible leakage anywhere. No history of accidents or major repairs or replacements. I want it just for a second vehicle, I have a great mechanic who works on a lot of these trucks. Is there anything I should be aware of at this high mileage?

Check the front suspension. At 160k my dad's 04 is in dire need of tie rods, and ball joints. Its not a deal breaker, just be aware that you might be replacing those soon if they haven't been done already.

Rear knuckle to lower control arm bushings(ball joints). With the rear tires off the ground, see if you can lift the tires up and down.

Damn that honestly is a steal. Was that from a dealer or from a private seller? Book value for your truck came back at nearly double that.

Private seller, and it needed about $600-700 in work down the line, but the deals are out there...
