First tow on rebuilt transmission - ISSUES

I haven't towed since I had the trans rebuilt. As of now the trans feels solid. The shifts are snappier and i've been getting on it more after the rebuild. Feels great. I am writing it off as Don't know until the 50 mile "learning" phase is completed.

Roof rack & light bar install wiring

So how would one access the room through the interior? My XM signal is terrible, the installer put it on my dash. I would love to mount it on the roof.

    New tire time

So I have the stock 265-70-17 tires which looks more like street tires, I was thinking of getting the below https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Road+Venture+AT51&partnum=67TR7AT51 Any opinions? I really don't want to invest in new rims as the truck as 125k on the...

    side view mirrors constantly moving

When I double tap the unlock button to open all doors my mirrors both move, is there a way to stop this? I've looked through all of the settings, I don't see anything that controls that settings.

    Trans issue

So day what, three? Felt great today, even snappier shifts. Maybe it was just goofy during the learning phase?

    Trans issue

Looked up the trans shop on BBB, A+, 42 years in business. https://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business-reviews/transmissions-automobile/monroe-transmissions-in-rochester-ny-31615/ I'm going to go back to the shop this week and tell them my experience and see what happens. I should have...

First tow on rebuilt transmission - ISSUES

and now I am more confused. I drove the trailer back today and it seemed fine. I was under 3k RPM, maintained 70 without an issue. I'm going to take a look and see if I can determine this RPM flair and see as you said if the RPM flair stays under 200. I am going to talk to my trans people...

First tow on rebuilt transmission - ISSUES

So, I just had the trans rebuilt for 2k, reputable trans mechanic. Here is what I noticed towing my boat (weighs 5k lbs): 1. I had to FLOOR the throttle quite a few times to MAINTAIN speed on very minimal uphill areas, these are just slight uphill sections 2. Sort of the same deal as number...

    Trans issue

After thinking about it last night I was going to go the $2k route and just let the shop repair the truck. The shop said they would put in beefier ribbons? (an f-150 part) that the guy said would toughen it up a bit and cost no extra because he is already in there. I have never used this shop...

    Trans issue

I'm keeping her, just hope the things that break stop lol. So this one is 1300 plus shipping, tax, whatever. Any ideas what a typical shop gets to install this? I would say a typical shop is $100 per hour...

    Trans issue

I have a 2003 5.4L with 125k miles. I've had it for 25k of those miles and I have taken great care of her. Actually, I just had the trans fluid changed a month ago. I also put about 4k of additional work into it to get it to be a daily driver. Today, I think the trans just went. I...

    Wind noise is sooooo annoying

I have an 03 eddie bauer edition. The gasket I purchased sits on the door frame, not on the door. Maybe there is another part I could replace, I don't see what else it could be.

    Wind noise is sooooo annoying

so my experience is different than Wilson's. I replaced both weatherstrips (driver and passenger) and what I noticed was the driver side is much quieter, still not as quite as newer cars, but no whistling which is good. The passenger side is a different story, it sounds WORSE than it did, it...

    Wind noise is sooooo annoying

I'll report back after I install the 2 weather strips (driver and passenger) hopefully for $250 it fixes the problem

    Wind noise is sooooo annoying

So I read, either on here or someplace else, that inserting surgical tubing into the door weather-stripping would help the weather-stripping retain in new, fuller shape, thereby stopping any wind noise. Well, I cannot get the freaking surgical tubing into the weather-stripping, its a real pain...
