    It's not just a Ford thing. I have a Jeep with a 3.7 motor that does the same thing. Condensation would be my guess unless your needing to top off your coolent often.

    Cam phasers...replace or lock out?

    So locking them out isn't a cheap fix. You still have timing chains to consider, and if emission are an issues, what are you going to do to address that? Besides, new cam phasers should last you another 100K miles or more. I'm sure by them you'll be worrying about other issues.

    WOW! This post just move right along. So I had a local shop do the work. I had them use all Ford parts and I order a milling oil pump. I still have a bit of a knock when the motors cold but I'll live with that for now. I really wanted to get another 50K out of this thing so I can buy a newer one...

    is there a way to get to the lifters “lash adjusters” without removing the cams So there are tools made to do this, but you still have to remove the valve covers and position the cam so the the piston is at the correct position. Why do you ask?
