Well i kinda messed up. I put my 98 expedition in program mode for the keyless entry and hit the button on the remote for my 2012 f-150 and it took it now both vehicles are synced to one remote. My question is when i get another remote for my expo and program it will it overwrite the program from my f150 key? I seriously didnt think it would work but it did.

My wife has a 2009 Focus and I drive an '02 Expedition. We have a total of 4 remote fobs, each one of them will work for both vehicles. Almost guarantees she can't lock her keys in the car. Each time you reprogram. you erase the vehicles memory of all "connected" remotes. My Expedition will allow up to 4 remotes to be "paired" to it. It does not care one bit about any other vehicle that remote might or might not be "paired" with.

If your talking about the fob with the lock and unlock buttons then just go through the motions and program the new fob for the expy and reprogram your f150 key back to that truck. Should not be a problem.

When you program an new remote, all old remotes will be overwritten. Only the remotes activated at the time of reprogramming will continue to work.

I know this because the little loop that the jump ring goes through broke on both of my brand new (in 2002) Expedition remotes. I bought pretty red new fobs from Amazon, thinking I would program the red ones to my wife's Focus and I'd use her old "ugly" black ones. Well, when I started reprogramming, she suggested that I see if all the remotes could be made to work with both vehicles, and they will. I suppose one remote could be paired with an infinite number of vehicles, because the remote doesn't learn anything. The vehicle computer learns the remote. The Expedition and the '09 Focus both will learn up to 4 remotes.
