98 Expy won't go in 4x4 and grinding sound near middle of rig....
Hasn't worked since I"ve had the truck, but with winter approaching, thought I'd hear some possible reasons. The truck has a grinding sound that sounds alot like brake rotors rubbing, but it does it all the time and doesn't change when you hit the brakes. Missing all the sudden after two days of hard rain?? PLEASE HELP!!!
problem solved... Thought I would post for all to see. It was a misfire on cyl. 4. turned out that the coil on 4 was missing its bolt. Therefore rain setup moisture. My mechanic replaced bolt and spark plug for the hell of it, for only 30bucks! Runs better and smoother than ever.- blbikerood

also got to thinking.... It was super low on gas, needle on red, put about 10 bucks in, not long after is when this started. Possible I either got bad gas or fuel filter is messed up?? Any opinions??- blbikerood

Metal grinding sound in front end??
Checked and it isn't rotors or wheel bearings, I'm assuming it is the front drive shaft. It is a constant sound that sounds just like warped rotors but it is at all speeds and doesn't change when you hit brakes. Wheels also turn freely when jacked up. Also it will go into the a4wd selection but...- blbikerood

Thanks! Yes it could mount a winch, It has some tabs for it. Nice rigs the both of you have. I went with these Dick Cepek rims cuz they were already on it!!! I put the Destinations on it the first week I had it. It had some good mudders on it, but man they were super loud and the back ones were...- blbikerood

Just got this about 3 weeks ago. 5.4L, Moonroof, Dick Cepek 17" wheels, Firestone AT's. As far as I can tell it is a stock lift. It also has some major heavy duty brush guard. So far I love it.
