Yeah I'm thinking COP's too. I recently changed mine and it was doing the same thing you're describing "mille1cw". My dad bought the 1997 Expy back in 2006 and I when I got it I changed the COP's and noticed that they were the original ones from the factory. They were in bad shape.
Mine was shuttering and vibrating as I drove it. It did it most when I was around 40 MPH or 1500 RPM. I changed the Coil Packs on it and it now runs nice and smooth. That's my experience, but try to get the codes checked and see what it is exactly.
Yeah I noticed that it is smaller. So I've seen mod's that have a 3" pvc pipe added to it. Is that so it takes in more air? I don't know a lot about this, but I'm willing to learn all I can.
Hey y'all,
I just changed all 8 COP's in my 97' Expy 5.4 liter Triton V8 and it runs so much better now. I want to thank those who have posted about the COP's in this forum. It has helped me so much. I will start taking pictures of my truck and post them in here soon. For now, here is a pic of...
KHPONY....What was your Expedition running like before you changed them? Mine runs sluggish and chugs as I'm driving. Bogs down until I give it more gas. Just curious!
Hi all,
New here in this forum. I just acquired my dads 1997 Ford Expedition 4X4 5.4L. He passed back in January of this year and my brother had the truck. I just got it back and am getting it running the way it should. Glad to have found this forum to help me in my venture.
Thanks...
