    Wont start

    Any got any ideas? 04 5.4 EB 4x4 won't start. One click nothing on instrument cluster. Won't even turn. Immobiliser light doesn't flash/blink it is steady. Will get voltmeter on batt later but anyone any suggestions. Had to take my kid swimming with other car so sat here wondering what...

    Air Suso issues

    2004 4x4 EB 5.4 Just got back from 3 week vacation and car is sat low ( been unused for 3 weeks) so I guess that ain't strange? The air Susp compressor doesn't fire up so am wondering why that would have suddenly died.... Anything else or obvious which may have seized with not using car?

    Thanks for your reply and doing some investigation. There was no drain plug unfortunately. Took plastic cover off, span the motor but couldn't see a drain plug.....having looked elsewhere it seems they may have been abandoned post 2001. Didn't fancy disconnecting the cooling lines to drain...

    I have an 04 5.4 4x4 EB, am looking to change tranny fluid- it has the 4r70w tranny- does this have a drain plug for torque converter? Guess changing fluid without draining this is pointless?

    Thanks for your advice. Will crack on then I guess. Car has 102000 so I hope this is not the first change of tranny fluid.....only had it 6 months. Any recommendations on types of ratchets, knuckles, extensions for the plug job? It looks like it is going to be a b!tch in terms of access.

    MAF is mass air flow sensor. Critical for your correct running in terms of fuel/air ratios based on ambient conditions etc. Cleaning your throttle body will help, with 160000 miles, when did you last do basic maintenance such as filters etc? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure...

    Always disconnect neg first and reconnect last on battery. Don't want to short a cell or f-up your battery. If it was starting without key being on sounds like a polarity issue on your starter...

    Grinding noise when accelerating !!!

    Sounds like the plate is interacting with something now that it has been dented- at whatever frequency 1000rpm equals causes this to "sing" to you. Wheel bearings rarely grind, they howl... Grinding from the hub area is almost certainly IWE vacuum issues partially engaging the front hubs...

    Thanks. I have tried to check the obvious. Having had the battery physically out the car to gain excess I have reconnected both terminals and cleaned them. The positive is some weird affair where you can't tighten it but is appears snug. Negative is fine. Car starts fine and voltage gage...

    So I have falken 295/50R20 on my 20" rims at the moment for my 2004 Eddite Bauer 4x4. Looking to replace and struggling to find many options for the 295.50R20. Would a 285/50R20 work, slightly different aspect ratio I guess but it would physucally fit wouldn't it? Thanks

    So I've figured out that it is the air suspension compressor pump. Seems to come on after start and occasionally when the vehicle stops. Never hear it whilst running. It's pretty loud - guessing something ain't right....

    Hi all After some advice... 2004 expy 4x4 with 100k miles. There is a noticeable whine at speed which is NOT rpm related. It is directly proportional to forward speed. It is 'howl' type sound, not deafening but there. My thoughts. Wheel bearings/hubs. This is not the vacuum type...
