    Texas hog hunt

What the f**k does this have to with Expeditions? Nothing. Take that s**t somewhere else. How about if I asked if you wanted me to post pics of James' rotting corpse?

Heated / Cooled Seats not working properly

I do. Any ideas as to what the check with these symptoms in mind? Dealership seems to have washed their hands of it even though they caused it, so looks like I'm on my own.

Heated / Cooled Seats not working properly

I had that issue (seats immediately going off) when I first purchased the vehicle and the wiring harness was indeed fried. In their current state, however, they come on and stay on but the seats never become appropriately warm to the touch. One would think it was the cushions based on most of...

    Driver side headlight out

Condensation can kill the bulb and the ballast. Pop the housing out, apply some butyl tape along the seam, and bake it in the over for a few minutes at 150F. Alternately, you can use some RTV silicone, but keep in mind it's a b*tch to remove should you ever need to do so. After you have it...

Any evidence of moisture inside the housing?

    From chrome to black

I'm partial to chrome wheels if we're talking strictly for looks. For my own personal vehicle, I prefer something like polished aluminum as they seem to hold up better. I like black wheels on some black vehicles and with a little machined aluminum/chrome/something to provide a little contrast...

    Captains chair arm rest repair?

I had the same issue on my '11 EL and the dealership simply shimmed it. They also put a note in the RO stating that the only other option was replacement.

    Rear Caliper issue?

This is the first I've heard of it and I researched the 3rd gens pretty heavily before buying one. I saw a number of reports regarding warped rotors, but nothing about stuck calipers. I wouldn't pay dealer prices if it were me. Keep receipts/records for any brake work and if something goes...

Installing middle seat in 2nd row - 2014 Expedition XL

I haven't done it, but it is indeed possible. The holes in the floor are already there. You will need to remove the armrests on your captain's chairs and cut out the carpet where the mounting holes are for the middle seat. If you're having trouble finding the holes or are afraid you may cut...

Wood grain pattern on 08 Eddie Bauer?

The 2008 Expedition brochure makes no mention of color; it just says "wood trim."

Heated / Cooled Seats not working properly

Starting from the beginning ... Current issue in bold if you want to skip the long history. Prior to taking possession of my truck the selling dealership found that the heated/cooled seats in my vehicle would shut off immediately after pressing the button. They (allegedly) replaced the DSCM...

    2007 5.4 Fuel Economy

Ideally, the tune should come last. If you're running a canned tune though it doesn't make a difference.

New member, just bought an 08 Expedition

The rear air should blow cold from the roof vents and hot from the floor and side vent. In regards to the location of the auxiliary blend door, quote from the 2011 manual: The '08 is probably the same.

seat memory and engine fan noise questions.

I have an issue with the memory in my '11 as well, though the issue is different than yours. My memory just clears itself seemingly at random. The dealership was - of course - unable to replicate the issue (likely because the truck was under warranty). I'm just going to live with it at this...

New member, just bought an 08 Expedition

If the suggestion above doesn't bring you any relief, you may end up having to live with it. My power windows are slow as well and the motors/regulators on Fords are known to die prematurely. I had them replaced in my last 3 Ford/Mercury vehicles in at least one front window when they finally...

Help me decide if I should buy this 2005 Expedition XLT

For the sake of discussion, I assumed you were looking at a 4WD vehicle since you live in Michigan. The price is high in comparison to the current NADA value. Clean retail assumes a vehicles with no mechanical problems and only minor body problems. It also assumes you are getting the vehicle...

2014 with near engine stall upon startup...

Well you can check the voltage at the fuel pump for any voltage drops and check pressure with a fuel pressure gauge before you run out and pay for a new fuel pump. If neither of those reveals an issue, I would move on to something else.

Congrats, looks great. I'm really intrigued by the new engine and CCD suspension. I would blow out those 22s in a week though.

What did you do to the expy today

I would be fuming. I got a flat in my wife's Mazda last winter and while I did manage to get the lugs off with a cross wrench, my upper back was killing me for days from the force required to get them off.

2014 with near engine stall upon startup...

The guy paid ~$60K for his truck and the problem was presented to Ford - multiple times - long before the warranty expired. Ford was contractually obligated to diagnose and repair the problem, but delayed the issue until the warranty ran out. Yes dimwit, that's a violation of law. He...

    smoked headlights

You can replace the bulbs with Silverstars which will make them a little brighter. Keep in mind that Silverstars burn out ridiculously fast though and really do only offer a small improvement. Alternately, you can retrofit HIDs.
