Well wolf I’m going to give bands a shot nothing to lose. As far as sounds I do have what sounds like almost like a rod knock but it’s a different sound under the engine than the rattling and metal tapping sound I guess on cat. Thx for your input I guys I’ll let you know in a few days what happens
I’ve just purchased truck a month with 90,000 on it. The only thing I have noticed is cylinder #3 had a plug saver kit. Dnt know if I have lost power because truck is new to me. Assuming it might have something to do with cat going bad
No codes yet. Cat is rattling inside. And plugs need to be changed other than that truck feels fine. Is ford making shitty cats or is engine issues cause them to fall apart. I’ve had Chevys suvs And nissans amd never had a cat go bad
Thx for reply. Truck is an 04 exp with a 5.4l and 90,000 on it. Trying to keep it as long as I can but dnt know what I can get out of it. Truck seems clean only issue I noticed was plug # blew out in past. Have an in law with a shop doing exhuast work
Thx for reply I’m new to this. My mechanic told me eastern cats arnt great. I was looking at benchmark cats, have you ever heard of them.Putting on Driver side of 04 expedition with 5.4
