    New camper - Sag issue

I could be wrong, but I believe the data card on the side of camper accounts for propane and batteries. Obviously pending any mods by previous owner (bigger tanks, more batteries etc.) Also, if possible, don't travel with a full fresh water tank. It's unnecessary weight. Fill up when you get...

    New camper - Sag issue

Have an rv shop set up that WDH. Load bars should be near parallel to ground from what I've been told. Also, is there a lot of gear inside Expy? Anything behind rear axle is considered "tongue weight"

    How to reduce towing sway

Not so much tire size but look for a higher load range/index. I have Firestone Destination LE2(?) on my '13 with a load index of 111 which is normal for a highway tire. They're nice but I'm looking to move up to a 117 load index. These can handle a little bit more weight and should "square"...

Ignoring the tongue weight (max cargo/payload)?

For what it's worth my '13 EL happily pulls our Roo 233S (6000 lb) with a family of 5 inside. Little "trick" we learned, put luggage in camper over axle. Let the truck pull it. Side note, the 233s floor plan will sleep 10(technically) and is a reasonable size. No, I don't work for a camper company

Any opinions on US made/owned tires for my needs? '14 4WD.

A few hours west of you in Syracuse. Almost any truck you look at here is running Cooper Discoverer AT3. Great all-around tire. Quite on highway, but aggressive enough for our winters. We visit the Cape every year and considering some of the road tires I've seen on the beach these will do fine...

    Power running boards malfunction

Mine just started doing the same thing. Last time I "helped" it the rest of the way and turned them off. I'm curious as to what the answer is

How much can I "safely" tow with 2016/2017 Expedition EL Limited with HD Tow Package?

Our camper has a GVWR of 6310 lbs. Family weighs in in a similar bracket. Then we add beer, roof top box of firewood, kids drinks, and fishing stuff to Expy. Between the trailer brake and the tow/haul mode everything seems safe and sound. As far as safe handling, I think you'll be OK. Could a...

    Camper weight

I was under the impression that no change up front was OK because it meant no weight was removed either. Also, if front IS compressed some wouldn't that mean the back is being lifted too much?

how can i lock the vehicle with engine running and walk away with key

I have to punch in my entire code. Do you have a proximity key? My '13 doesn't. I agree with jkayca too. Maybe I misunderstood. I use the key pad if I'll be less than 5 minutes. Otherwise I turn it off.

how can i lock the vehicle with engine running and walk away with key

I use the keypad on drivers door to lock and unlock while engine is running. Keys stay in truck.

    Can you make this happen

Anyone know if it's possible to make the user input default to Bluetooth? When I select user device from media button it always comes up to line in. Then I have to tap it to go to Bluetooth. Same thing if it was on Bluetooth and I turn engine off, it reverts back to line in. Thanks in advance.

    Camper weight

I pull about 6000# plus a family of 5 and got about 8 MPG at 67mph.

Hook it up and see/measure. As long as the back end of your TV doesn't go up you should be ok

Do I have the HD Tow package or not??

I do use tow/haul which, according to the book, doesn't lock out 6th. It changes shift points and adds transmission braking. Agreed 3000 isn't excessive, but it sure sounds like it.

Do I have the HD Tow package or not??

I tow a 6000 lb camper with an EL Limited. Going up long hills at highway speeds it definitely struggles a bit. Sometimes hitting 3000 RPMs and I've only seen 6th gear going downhill. Granted, I also have my wife, 3 small boys, and a backend full of fishing gear. Aside from 8 MPG, you should be...

    Just towed this

Second time towing anything with my new toy. Very impressed with this machine. Sway control did what it was supposed to do. The only time I really was aware of the extra 7000 lbs was when I had to start on a hill.

How much are you towing? Looking at a new TT...

Just took the maiden voyage with my Rockwood Roo 233S taking it out of storage (had a different tow vehicle when it went in) GVWR Of 6200(?) and aside from bounce it was barely noticeable. I didn't have family or gear but I'm very excited to load it up.

34/35 inch tires at 80 mph?

Just the thought makes me think of the DeLorean from Back to the Future.... If either one hits 88 mph, you're going to see some serious sh#t

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

We made a similar switch last year. 1500lb pop up to a 6100lb hybrid TT. Tongue weight going from about 150 to about 610 lbs produced a noticeable bounce for sure. I'm inclined to say it's normal, just different. Definitely check actual numbers and adjust if needed though

    4wd and TSC

Ok...as long as truck ain't broke. 4wd makes sense to me. TSC makes sense to me. I just never had them both on the same vehicle. Thanks for the insights.
