I'm hoping someone on this forum can answer this odd question. My '00 EB Expo is exhibiting signs of a plugged/partially plugged cat. I live in So. Cal. where emissions laws are extreme. I'm moving to So. Utah shortly and was wondering if I STILL have to maintain the CA-based cat part numbers OR can I replace the cats with NON-CALIFORNIA cats??? As most of you know, cats used elsewhere are FAR LESS expensive than CA-required part numbers. I'm concerned with how the PCM and sensors-calibrated for CA would react to NON CA. cats. Thanks.

I live in Southern Utah. There are no emissions testing here.

A Bad CAT will give you a check engine light. A plugged one will flashing one. OBDII code PO420, PO421. Have you recently driven will bad misfire? Raw fuel in exhaust will kill a CAT. You better fix that problem first, or you will destroy the new converters.
