I have a 2000 and when I put the car in drive the radio turns off, even the light on the radio goes out. When I put the car back in park the radio comes back on and all is fine. Has anyone heard of anything like this? Is there some connection between the transmission and radio? A shared fuse or something? This is driving me crazy.

Thanks

well it won't be a fuse cuz if it blows you would have to change it for it to come back on might be a a relay look in your owners man. to see if they share any if not could be a ground wire.

Do you lose the clock time or station presets? The radio is fed by both battery hot and accessory hot.
If you are losing only the on/off and illumination the best guess is to check the acc. circuit.
