2009 oem navigation in 2004 expedition

hey guys, i swapped navigation units from 2009 expedition to 2004 expedition
right now radio turns on displays ford logo and shuts off
any ideas ??

Yeah. It wont work. It is coded for the original vehicle. Not yours. I think the dealer can recode it. How did you get it to fit. They are different size openings?

i have ford ids vcm and cant programmit becouse my car is not a ms-can equiped car im not sure if sending it for reprograming will help
there is a thread on this forum about fitting navi in it, i didnt cut the bazel yet, just plug in the radio and noticed that it doesnt work
