I searched the forum and got no results for this... I haven't looked at my vehicle yet but wanted to know where to start before I started this.

Is it on the frame some where near fuel tank? Anyone have pic or diagram?

Thanks!

On the 4th gens it’s in the tank but I don’t think it’s replaceable separately without changing the fuel pump module. One thing on all the cars I’ve seen is the in tank filters are pretty big a do seem to last a lifetime unless something real bad happens like contaminated fuel so no need to change it like a maintenance item.

Thanks! That explains why I can't find info on the filter replacement on 4th gens.

Hard to tell from your pictures you posted, but where is it that you depressurize the fuel system? almost seems like it's inside the kick panel or somehwere in the back of the vehicle? As for the filter itself, is the skid plate near the tank? I haven't crawled under there yet...

Interesting thread! According to the 2022 owner's manual, pg 404:

There is also a reference on pg 533 that if you register your vehicle in California, failing to perform fuel filter maintenance item does not void your emissions warranty. I see no reference to a fuel filter service in the service charts.

I looked up the PN off the box that @Alhrir1982 shared, and - at least on Carid - says it's for a 2018-2022 Navigator.

It's unfortunate if our manuals aren't identifying maintenance items.

Looking at the quick disconnects in the images, is there a depressurization/pressurization process? One would think the air in the filter needs to bled off before making it to the fuel rails.
