Just wanted to put this out there. For the 4th generations 2018 & up. I just bought a 2019 Expedition Stealth. Never had an issue with programming Homelink in my other Fords, but this one was interesting. Ultimately, the Ford manual is wrong, and the Homelink site fixes the issue.
Problem:
Ford manual states to program Homelink using a remote. When the Homelink goes steady blink, you press the Homelink button you are programming, hold it for 2 seconds, release. Continue pattern until the garage door opens.
Solution:
Programming the Homelink with the remote works fine, its just that the opener is not synced with the Homelink yet. You need to go press the opener program button after you program the Homelink with your remote and sync it up (once the opener is in program mode, you just press and hold the Homelink button for 2 second intervals). Works fine after that - in fact works quickly.
