I have a 2001 XLT. It was quite nice when my wife bought it 6 years ago but she lost interest and it became my car and gas was expensive so I just neglected it and beat it and let it deteriorate.

Now I finally have a garage and I successfully replaced the intake and I am chasing down other little engine problems.

I'm on a course to bring this car back to something we can take family trips in.

I'd love to hear of other peoples experience in bringing back a neglected first gen.

Mine wasn't really neglected exactly, but I've done a fair amount of work to it. Click the link in my signature.

Ditto here. My wasn't neglected, but has almost 300K on it and was showing it's age.

interior before.jpg Went to the junk yard and found some good replacement interior parts. I painted the other interior parts, added some weathertech mats

interior after.jpg and put bedliner in the rear.
interior back after.jpg Also did some painting on the front grill.
