I don't know if yours is the same, but for mine the inlet pipe is 2.5". The tail pipe is 2.5" for about an inch, then expands to 3" the rest of the way back. So I used an adapter for the inlet and a piece of 3" pipe to make the difference in length. There was a little gap to make up with the pipe we bought from the store and the tail pipe. But it worked out fine.
