I have an '05 XLT. I got it from the original owner with the warranty paper
concerning the cam phaser issue. I have put almost 80K miles on the truck.
Knock on wood, the motor is fine. I know I have that paper somewhere and
seem to recall that you have to put around 135K miles before they no
longer honor the warranty. Before I have to ask a dealer, does anyone here
know if that's a warranty that covers the issue after it happens (can ruin the
engine), or do I take it in so that there is a valve train modification that they do
to prevent the phaser issue from ever happening?
