Is The left side actuator the same part number as the right side actuator? (2009 Expedition - Eddie Bauer) Dealer is saying the left side actuator needs to be replaced... at a cost of $1600. The part # they wrote on the invoice is DL3Z-19E616-A.

25 bucks on Amazon, just put that part# in the search. DL3Z-19E616-A is the OEM part #
The replacement part on Amazon is
Motorcraft YH1933 Heater Blend Door Actuator
The dealer is getting you on the labor, because it's hard to get to, so they just remove the whole dash.

Thanks Denethor! :) I always look on here first, I would never pay that.... I love taking stuff apart, and trying to put it back together!

I love a good ending! Especially when the stealer doesn't get a chance to bend someone over! You know, if they charged a fair price for stuff, they would be able to hire 5 times the number of mechanics they presently have....but Ford and the rest are blind to the big picture and only see the short term gains. They are counting on people being unwilling or unable to accomplish the exact same work as their guys perform and allowing themselves to be *****.

I have a friend of mine who is a Service Mgr at the Annap Mercedes dealer and he tells me it's a running joke at all dealers among the Service Mgrs....to see if they can induce shock on the clients face when they give them the price for the work. They think it's funny to put someone in financial duress. Sounds kind of sick to me but he tries to justify it by saying it's been the culture at dealers forever.

Yet he wonders why I never take my 2 seater to his dealer. I just tell him, "it never breaks".

While we aren't schooled in the exact mechanics of these cars/trucks, we are certainly able to learn with a little instruction help or a quick vid! THAT's why I love this kind of happy ending as much as the other!
