Not sure which fuse to check don't have my manual, can someone tell me where to start?

What year is your truck??? Instrument illumination fuse number 18...but I have a gen 1

If it is not the fuse, you might have to pull the cluster and see how the connections look on the back. Those had a problem with the connection for the odometer being flaky. My mom's mileage comes on and off on the display as you drive. Could be something related to that as well.

mag, I will bet that your problem lies with the dimmer module in the headlight switch. You can check the fuse for the dash lights, but from what I have seen, when you have a problem like this, it is the dimmer module that fried.

this might be a stupid question, but have you checked to see if all the bulbs are burnt out???

Thanks for the responses but fuse 18 was out. A little 5amp brown one.
Glad it was a quick fix.
