looking to do a tune up... I was going to buy parts online to save a couple bucks. The question always comes up whether i have coil pack or spark plug wires? How can i tell? Whats the difference? Can i use one or the other???

Im clueless..

maybe the coil pack only gets changed when it goes bad???

what is necessary for a basic tune up?

There really isn't any such thing as a "tune up" any more, it's all just changing out filters and fluids (and occasionally spark plugs). The important thing to remember is that modern vehicles are much more fussy about fluids, if you put the wrong type in them you can, quite litterally, destroy the engine or trans.

That being said, get a good shop manual, pull out the owner's manual and then go to work on it.

I gotcha...

Now, by asking my 1st couple questions may mean i am not fully capable of doing a tune-up myself. Yet. But as some of you may know, i just bought a 2000 expy and am unsure the last time a tune up was done. It runs fine. No issues that i see/hear, but wouldnt mind getting a couple things changed
