free play idler arm

Anyone knows how many free play the idler arm can have.
When I jack up the car and wiggle on the right tire the idler arm moves up and down.

the factory says a 1/2 inch total play is allowed but it depends how much you like to buy front tires i always replace any front end component if any play is present

That's the same as what I was thinking of. The free play whil give your tire space to move.
Next challenge......... let's see if there is anything on this Island.
