Gotts mod for '08 Expy???

I've looked at the picture for the Gotts mod, but my '08 has the airbox right against the fender. Is the Gotts mod applicable to the '08?? Sorry if I overlooked something.

I yanked the air silencer out of my 07 the first time I changed the air filter.
I didn't notice a real big difference.
