has anyone attempted to add an interior release handle to open the rear liftgate?

I was able to pop the glass by just pulling a latch inside the rear panel area so maybe ill be able to put some paracord with a loop on and use it as a pull handle

a pull handle sounds fine if it'll work but then I would have to engineer a way to get the rear panel off/on and to do that around that cord. right now though that idea is still pretty well dead until some other issues with the truck are sorted. might be pulling the right side head to do a freeze plug :/

Hit the junkyard up look for a car with a emergency trunk release in the trunk and adapt it.
