Heater Blend door actuator stuck?

Hey guys, well, along with working, I have been struggling with the lower main heater blend actuator for a few months now. I finally get the right part but now the shaft won't go all the way in. I tried messing with the controls to see if it will pop thur but no luck yet. I installed it yesterday. Should I just throw in the towel and take it to a shop? The driverside blows warms while the passenger blows cold. Help please

One side of shaft have a flat spot? If so you'll have to turn it enough to line it up then it should go easily.

If it wont go through, then something must be in the way. Also try and compare it with the old part.
