I have a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. When I turn the Vehicle off it makes a loud BONG noise, It comes from underneath the back of the vehicle. Sounds like the Drivers side??? Any Help

What type of "Bong" sound....the computer sound or the gurgling sound a bong would make?

It sounds like metal expanding???? Only when I drive it and then turn the car off.

Is it immediately upon shutting down, or a minute or so later.

If it is immediate, check your exhaust mounts. The motor rocking on turning off could be causing the exhaust to rock into something.

If it is a couple minutes later, it could be the exhaust popping due to contraction during cooling.

Just a couple thoughts...

If it's like a clicking or a popping, exhaust cooling down would be my guess too. Mine makes a lot of clicking/popping after shutting it off.

Also, I have noticed that our old Expedition had an A/C drain line above the exhaust line. It popped for several minutes after shut-down as a result. Sometimes you could even hear the water sizzle if you listened closely! Haven't noticed it on the '11 yet, but I don't often stand next to the truck for a couple minutes after getting out, either!

Get under the truck and have a look.

If it happens immediately after shutting off have someone else shut it down for you.
