Hoping they expand it. Many of us on the F-150 14th gen forum have been begging Ford to make a hybrid version on the 5.0 V8 but they don’t seem to want to. It would be the perfect towing machine. The 5.0 is great on gas when towing, and the electric supplementation would add sufficient low end grunt to stay in lower gears and utilize the cylinder deactivation at low loads. I get that they are proud of their 3.5 EcoBoost, but even many current 3.5 PowerBoost owners have joined the call for a hybrid version of the V8 since the lower AFR’s are very attractive on the N/A engine. Fingers crossed they expand the hybrids to other configurations.
The PowerBoost is a great platform, cool to see the Expedition will have it as an option. The 3.5 EB and hybrid pair well together, and the utility of the inverter is huge.
