Light behind the mileage

I have some problem with the light behind the mileage on my 2000 expy...
Sometime is light, sometime is off..... I give some tap on my dash and is light up... my father haver the same problem on is 2000 f150.... Do you know what is it????

I had the same issue when I first got my 97 expedition. I would tap on the cluster some lights would work and others wouldnt. I just pulled the cluster and replaced all the old bulbs. a friend of mine told me fords were prone to blowing bulbs in the dash. I havent had a problem since I used new philips bulbs

LED replacements look cooler and they will never burn out.

I have the same issue. I don't suspect bulbs because it is so frequent and random at the same time. Seems more like a bad connection. I've been too lazy to pull the dash, but I'll try the bulbs in the odometer. Thanks
