I am considering this device and would like some advice if it is worth buying. I have the following uses at the moment.

1) Cylinder Power Balance
2) Customizing vehicle features like instrument cluster backlighting. I want the gauges (and radio display) bright during day without headlights and dim at night with headlights. It seems mine are the very opposite. Also I want fog lights to stay on with high beams.
3) OBD2 codes and mode 6 for misfires etc.

What apps or programs will be required?

The OBDLink MX+ is the best BT MSCAN capable OBDII adapter on the market. It will be able to monitor everything, as for the coding. The issue is not the adapter but FORSCAN support for anything before 2015 is VERY lacking for the expedition.
