New Truck...New problems.

I have a small oil leak dripping off the shield beside the front differential. Its not from the pan itself, its not a leaky plug, its above and behind. I cant really see in there without jacking, which is not going to happen soon.

Anyone know what this is off the top of their head?

Thanks

Did you have an oil change lately?

That plastic part catches oil and directs it to the ground. may be residual.

The seller said that it had been done recently, I just bought it.

With a little looking It seems to be coming from where the oil lines go from the motor to the oil cooler. Could it be a leaky sensor at that location?

I would wipe down everything and then drive it and see if anything comes back.
I think its from the oil change.

Did an Okay wipe down of what I could see. A very small drop on the drive this morning. Also while cleaning, it became obvious that this is not dirty oil. I am hoping its an overspill dripping as had been suggested.

Make sure the filter is tight. Also sometimes the old o-ring from the filter sticks to the block (or filter adapter) and causes a leak.

Isnt the filter for the truck in the front bumper, behind the drivers side headlight? I have the towing package, so its near the oil cooler?

Some have the filter on the block( Mine) some have it mounted by the bumper.

Just keep an eye on the spot to see if your getting much dripping, hopefully not!!
