hmmm, engine light came on, was blinking randomly, seemed to come up ~ regular at highway cruise speed power,

def had a miss, shuddering, hesitation, roughness, loss of power etc, smelled fuel,

so google p0301 went to plugs, cop & thought the other stuff was unrelated, or seperate

went on for ~ a wk and a half and was gonna start with a cop replace #1 cyl

all of a sudden the other day, the engine smoothed out and ran normal, then the next day the engine light turned off

might still be a slight miss left over with hard gas pedal use under high(?) vacuum scenarios (or big sudden loads at low rpms) ...for now

you may want to pull the throttle body and clean the exhaust ports as they may be clogged Check youtube for a video

engine light came back on steady, still running smooth

pretty sure i know what the 401 is about, minor issue, i recently dealt with the common rubber L brackets that go bad causing vac issues & codes

ended up using clear hose i had lying around and did a magiver fix, when i had a look under the hood, i could see with the engine running that the clear tubing couldn't deal with the suction so was collapsing causing blockage

did the forward drivers side o2 sensor not long ago, wrench said that was the easier one but the exhaust would have to be fiddled with to do the pax side

figure i'd just drill a hole and jbweld an o2 bung near the other for a quick cheap fix

My guess is that it was missing during snow melt? Water was probably getting past the boot causing the spark to ground to the block and not the plug. Water evaporates, no more miss. Replacing the boot on plug 1 might help, and some of the parts houses sell just the boots for like 5-10 bucks.

Here is some info on the P0401: http://www.expeditionforum.com/f73/p0401-please-read-7920/

fresh easy #1 cop swap, dabs'a dielectric here & there

fiddle with the pcv tubing to deal with suction blockage in using a wrong clear tubing ... that had an unneeded long 180 deg bend

equals a humming no engine light so far :birgits_tiredcoffee

@mods - pix are missing from the first post, dunno if they were taken down or some prob on my end

i could prob fix if on my end, there were 3 pix that defined the codes

edit - just noticed pix gone from another thread so prob an issue on my end i'll sort out

Lack of HO2S-21 Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean

Causes A code P1151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Electrical:
Short to VPWR in the harness or HO2S
Water in the harness connector
Open/shorted HO2S circuit Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring Damaged HO2S Damaged PCM

Fuel System:
Excessive fuel pressure
Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
Leaking fuel pressure regulator
Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
Vapor recovery system

Induction System:
Air leaks after the MAF
Vacuum Leaks

PCV system:
Improperly seated engine oil dipstick

EGR System:
Leaking gasket
Stuck EGR valve
Leaking diaphragm or EVR

Base Engine:
Oil overfill
Cam Timing
Cylinder compression
Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)

just monitoring for now, at a quick glance, noticed the oil dipstick was sticking out ~ an inch, might be the reason for 1152

as far as 0153, just recently changed the #2 bank #1 o2 sensor

Causes A code P0153 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The oxygen sensor is faulty
* The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
* There is an exhaust leak

Possible Solutions Things that may fix the problem include:
* Check and fix any exhaust leaks
* Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
* Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
* Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
* Check for inlet air leaks
* Check the MAF sensor for proper operation
* Replace the Bank 2 oxygen sensor upstream of the catalytic converter
