popping sound when steering

i have a 99 4x4 expy, today I noticed a popping sound when turning, and driving over small bumps in the road. I can also slightly feel it in the steering wheel. Does this sound like the ball joints going bad? When I drove through town it was quite annoying, but when driving back home, not a sound. Or could it be something else, struts, tie rods etc....im taking it Monday to have it looked at but want some advice before going.....thanks for any help

Does this only happen when you turn one way?
