My 05 Expedition King Ranch just got an 08 F150 engine and is running like a champ. My radio will not turn off when the truck is off/key out and the door(s) opens. It eventually powers off but sounds like it is shuffling discs when any door is opened. It will also surge when I hit a bump. It doesn’t lose memory the radio goes off and back on. The clock display usually stays up. On occasion the whole unit goes out. It’s very irritating.
All the interior lights and door ajar display work as they should. I’ve checked the purple wire splice that some say is a problem and it’s fine.
I took the radio out and can’t get it to replicate the turning off and on by moving it around. I drove it with a test light on the red wire to the head unit and there is intermittent loss of power on that wire when the radio cuts out.
Any ideas?
