I honestly wouldn't care, except that driver's side step is starting to flex pretty harsh at the rear mount. With two kids, I don't need it letting go with one of them on it.
You might check and make sure it isn't the steel reinforcement under the step itself. I recently replaced that piece on my rig. The old ones were pretty much gone.

You know what, that might be a great idea! Looking at this bracket, and how shakey this step is, you might be right and that'll save me a ton of cash that I don't want to spend on an old rust bucket.

I dont want to get rid of my 07 XLT Expo but that aera was looking bad..
