Ok Expeditions Pros.....

My question is: Do you think a 2002 XLT Sport with 175,000 miles that was well taken care of is a ticking time bomb or does the engine still have life left?

Obviously, i don't think I am getting a new car with 175K, but how well with this car will hold up, or is it an amazement to you that a Ford engine made it this far (no offense, I own a ford now!) Is the transmission about to blow, do the cyclinders start knocking off at 180K etc...

:shootout:

Knowing the full maintenence history is the key.

It could be "barely broken in" (I've seen some of these mod motors go beyond 400K miles wintout a rebuild) if well-maintained.

Or it could be on it's last legs if it has been beat to heck.

I've got 130K miles and she runs better than ever. But I'm a stickler for routine maintenance.
