Trans temperature on 07 Expedition

Modified the trans dip stick with a thermocouple so as to monitor the trans temp while driving.( if anybody is intrested in doing this, I can tell them how I did it) Found the temp to go up to 190° F while driving on a 95° day without towing anything. I have the trailer towing package but the trans cooler looks to be pretty skimpy to me. ( about 2" high, 20in long.) Thinking about installing a larger Hayden Rapid Cool after market trans cooler in place the the factory one. Has any one done anything like this?I am going to be towing a 5500 lb travel trailer. Also, I assume that I should tow with overdrive off.

07 EL Limited. You said you "modified the trans dip stick". What have you got. I have no dip stick and the manual states these are sealed units.

I was thinking the same thing. My 07 is a sealed unit, no dipstick.
