i might go to a junk yard that deals with fords and hondas only. they always have 1st gen expos and f150s of the same year. well im gonna go look at the expos maybe one day. what axle codes should i look for? so i know it has the 9.75 and limited slip. and for the f150 same, but ill just take the diff out of the 150 cause making that into a coil sprung axle would be too much work.

Panda,
Code Gear Ratio (L - limited slip, C - open differential)
15 3.31C
16 3.73C
17 (1997) 3.73C
17 (1998) 3.55C
17 (1999-2002) 3.31C
19 3.55C
H5 3.31L
H6 3.73L
H7 3.31L
H9 3.55L

YOu will find the axle code inside the door jam of the vehicle or you can look on the axle in the passenger side upper corner on the differential cover assuming someone hasn't pulled it off already. If you need any other information, let me know.

So I got 17 3.55 open diff. My dad wants to replace the rear end cause it is making a humming sound but not sure if it is that. Who knows now gotta find the rear end with 3.55 gears and a limit slip.

I don't know about "easy" but I assume it would bolt right in. When I replaced my upper and lower control arms it was a bit of a pain getting the old bolts out and I have an impact wrench. Guess that depends on the condition of your bolts. I ended up cutting last two bolts off as it was easier in my case. I guess you plan to pull your calipers off and re-use them without disconnecting the brake lines. This would aviod having to bleed the brakes. That axle is going to be one heavy ***** to move around.

yeah it will be, but we did my dads old van a few years ago. so it shouldnt be too bad. and yeah thats a good idea about the calipers. haha didnt think about that. DUHHH!!! we have little wood dollies and jacks and what not. its not going to be too bad. just put on the lower control arms and start from there.

i replaced my 8.8 in my bronco and helped a buddy put a 9 in in his bronco and then into his toyota along with the 351 etc and the axle really wasnt that heavy the tranny was 10 times more difficult just make sure to spray the bolts for a couple days before you start with pb blaster or your favorite penetrating oil o and as walnuts likes to say use heat from a propane torch etc. yes it really does help. i learned that while living in tennessee i hated the rust out there im a az boy i hate rust not used to it lol
